HOW DOES A CLINIC HELP YOU WITH YOUR APPLICATION?
1. MP staff and volunteers will assist you to prepare your application and gather the documents that Passport Canada requires.
2. A photographer will be available on site for your convenience. The passport photos are guaranteed to meet requirements.
3. The MP office will courier completed applications securely within 24 hours to Passport Canada, for regular processing (up to 20 days).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Standard processing time with Service Canada for passports is 20 business days, PLUS mail delivery timeline. They recommend that you don’t finalize any travel plans until you get your passport.
The use of a passport clinic does not help to speed up processing time for your application. If you require urgent or express service and have made travel plans, please contact my office to discuss the various options offered by Service Canada, or visit: Urgent, Express or Emergency Service for more information.
ADULT RENEWAL APPLICATIONS: Check the date of issue. If your adult passport was issued within the past 15 years and you meet the other eligibility requirements, you can apply to renew your passport with a simplified form. Or you may be eligible to renew online using Passport Canada's new service (daily quota limit): Adult Passport Renewal Online
WHAT TO BRING TO THE PASSPORT CLINIC:
1. Identification - original birth certificate, Canadian citizenship card or certificate, and/or Canadian passport (current or most recently expired within 15 years of issue date).
2. Secondary Identification - required only for Adult General applications: A photocopy of BOTH sides of your driver's license or other government photo ID, signed by your guarantor. The ID must be issued by the federal or provincial government. It must contain your full name, date of birth, sex, photo, and signature. You may use two pieces of ID to satisfy this requirement if needed.
3. Special Situations - If you have changed your name, supporting documents such as a marriage certificate may be required by Passport Canada. For a child passport, bring legal documents if applicable for adoption, separation, court orders, or other legal proceedings.
4. Payment - The application form contains a section to enter your credit card information and signature (Visa, MasterCard, American Express).
